Born and raised in Nebraska on her family’s ranch, Jenita found her passion for agriculture early in life. She earned a Bachelor’s degree in Rangeland Ecology and Water Resources management from Chadron State College in 2012, and promptly began working with producers across the western US through her job as a grazing specialist for the USDA/NRCS. She now owns her own consulting company where she helps ranchers create and implement grazing systems to increase profitability without degrading their operation’s natural resources.
She started crop insurance in 2018 shortly after the Pasture Rangeland and Forage program went nationwide, primarily to serve the ranchers in her network with rainfall index coverage. She has now grown into livestock, row crop, and hail offerings, and believes that crop insurance offerings are an integral tool for any successful ag operation.
She is a graduate of the Ranching For Profit School, as well as Holistic Management International’s school. She calls South Dakota home, yet remains actively involved with her family’s ranch in Nebraska. Together with her husband Justin, a real estate agent, avid hunter, and hunting and fishing guide, they have 11 dogs and 5 horses, and spend a good portion of their free time outdoors in one way or another. They are firmly grounded in their faith and do their best to live a life that honors their Savior Jesus Christ. Grazing, profitability, and helping secure a future for family ranching operations are her passions. She serves producers in 18 different states.
