Tanner was born and raised near Rossville, IN. He grew up working on the family farm of row crops, show cattle and laying chickens. He attended Blackhawk East and Purdue University as a member of the livestock judging teams and graduated in 2006. After getting his degree, Tanner started his own small business with his brother. He later began his crop insurance career with Farm Credit before moving on to Premier. He prefers meeting customers on the farm to discuss what they need their crop insurance policy to do for them. Tanner and his wife, Andrea, and 2 children continue to be involved in showing livestock and still live near the family operation in the Rossville/Cutler area.
